A Reflection
Vivian had various jobs over the years while growing
up, working at Rabbit Hollow Knitting, Rock of Ages
and Reddy Plastics until she settled in the Bethel-
Stockbridge area with her husband.  One of the jobs
that she worked at, Russell Asbestos Company, was
where she met husband Dick and brought the two of
them together for there first date on July 23rd, 1954,
and married one year later on July 30th 1955.    In
1990, Vivian started a new career in the field of
Nursing and taking care of people during there time
of need.

She continued to work Hospice up until 2002 when
her husband, Dick passed away. When not working
she gave her time and a part of her life  to the
Catholic Church.  She belonged to the Catholic
Daughters and was a Eucharist minister for the
Church.  She did this because she knew, with the
sons and daughters she had, we needed all the help
we could get to keep us out of trouble.

One of her favorite past times was listening to the
radio on a Saturday Night, WWVA/CBS and WCOP.
There were lots of country stars and had one
particular show “The Hillbilly Hoedown”. I use to hear
how she would gather around the radio with her
family and listen.   She collected there photos, wrote
some of there songs down and had most of there
records.  She loved to collect and listen to music.
“For us today that would be Larry the Cable Guy and
the Internet”

As children growing up we often learn the hard way in
many different situations.  I can’t count how many
times our mother would always pick us up, brush us
off and point us in the right direction, even know “We
knew it all and wanted do things our way” As we got
older I  learned this was a very important trait our
mother shared with us, STUBBORNNESS.  If you
knew Vivian, you knew that she had this trait.

In February when her illness started, I remember
being by her side with some of her family members.  I
learned some family memories that I was not aware
of.  One particular one that I was told about was her
great babysitting skills.  I learned on one occasion,
where I wont bore you with the details,  but it involved
her watching a  little boy, make up, a second story
window and a trip to the doctors office.  I can tell you
she is ok as she was downstairs the whole time,
scars look great and he no longer wears makeup.

For every story or thing I could tell you about Vivian,  I
know you could share 10 more as she touched
everyone in a unique way, and shared a lifetime of
memories.

Vivian was a very spirited kind hearted woman who
was always willing to share that kindness with family,
friends, and people who she just met through church
and others that just needed someone to talk with.
When you walked into a room where Vivian was, you
would always see a smile on her face.  She took the
roads and pathways of life, and accepted them no
matter how bad or hard they were or would be.  This
was a very unique quality she had.  I would like to
take the time to read a poem I came across in my
readings.

On Saturday, October 4th, My sister in law and
myself took Vivian to a healing ceremony at Our Lady
of Angels Church.  This was very important to Vivian
as the healer was a person who she knew very well
and enjoyed helping him at the parish she belonged
to when he was assigned to that area.  I did not know
what she had asked for, and what prophecy would
return back to her during the healing ceremony until I
talked with Father later on.  When it was her turn in
line, Father asked her what she wanted to be healed
from.  She said I would like “Walk Again”.  As Father
performed the healing, Jesus through prophecy and
spirit said” She will be dancing with me in Heaven”.
Her blessing and healing was granted.

She will always be a part of our hearts and has
helped mold us into the people that we have become.

I am very grateful she is and was a part of my life as
wells as yours.  She will be greatly missed by all, but
her memory, life, legacy and her unforgettable smile
will live on as we remember her, see her and feel her
in our hearts.
